Heping tea region is located at the Heping Township of Taichung County. It is of the highest altitude among all tea regions in Taiwan.
Tea plantations are located in between 1600 to 2500 meter above sea level.
Dayuling oolong tea,
Li Shan oolong tea,
and fu-shou-shan oolong tea are the most well-known and representative teas of the region.
Typical high mountain environment makes the region a perfect place to grow and harvest first grade high mountain oolong tea which tastes unique, fragrant, rich and smooth.
The high altitude teas from Heping tea region rarely compete in tea competitions because of late production season and quantity limitations.
The place of origin is the only major factor of these expensive tea prices. Though pricey,
they are still one of the most favorite teas among the local Taiwan people.
